Paul Freeman-Bio san juan river guides, san juan river fly fishing guides, san juan river guides

Roughrider Guide Flies is small fly tying group of three tiers. Paul Freeman is the owner and has been tying flies commercially for 5 years. Paul began tying in 1980 and has come up with many of his own patterns through the years. He guided on the San Juan for 3 years prior to moving to Idaho and then back to his home state of Arizona. He is a teacher by trade, a flyfisherman and tyer by obsession.

Dr. Mark Clark- Bio

Mark has been tying flies commercially for over 10 years and we are lucky to have him tying flies for Roughrider Guide Flies. Mark caught the fly fishing bug early in his life, his first trout on a fly was a brown that he caught on an irresitible. His mentors are Jack Dennis, Mike Lawson and Gary LaFontaine. Mark has flyfishing running through his veins. If he is not guiding on the San Juan River, he is fishing, if he is not fishing he is tying and designing new flies. Mark will be introducing many more innovative patterns in the future.

Phil Green- Bio

Phil lives in Albuquerque and works as an aviation mechanic. He fishes the San Juan as often as he can, along with many of the streams and rivers of Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. Phil has some very innovative patterns that flat out catch fish. Phil is a relative novice to the flyfishing and flytying game, but he is one of those naturals that makes you think he has been doing both for 20 or 30 years. Roughrider Guide Flies is very pleased to offer some of his patterns, with more to come.
